Starting at Tarrant Hinton tomorrow, 1st September until 5th September, is the leading show of it's type in the world - The Great Dorset Steam Fair.
From small beginnings, this annual event has become one of the favoured places for those interested in how people lived, worked and played in bygone years.
Watch the steaming giants of the past being put through their paces - hauling huge loads, sawing planks or doing farm work. Ride the steam-driven funfair with over 50 showman's engines, with organs, stageshows and Can Can dancers. Take a good look at vintage, veteran and classic cars, lorries, military vehicles, tractors and bikes - even working heavy horses.
Explore country crafts such as thatchers and cider makers, and over 500 trade stands.
Not only that, but there are four entertainment pavillions and an outdoor stage, each with its own programme of live music, and its own range of national and local ales and beers.
Just a few reasons why there is no other event like it in the world, and why 200,000 visitors attend each year from the UK and abroad. You'll be hooked for life!
