Ride your bike from London to Southampton to celebrate the 50th birthday of the British Heart Foundation and raise money for the Mending Broken Hearts Appeal, this weekend.
This beautiful yet challenging ride on Sunday 11 September covers 82 miles (130km) is suitable for both intermediate and experience riders alike - serious training is a must, but the views are worth it! Leaving from Bushy Park in Richmond, the route winds through the Hampshire and Surrey countryside passing through Cobham, Ockham and Binstead before crossing the Itchen Bridge into Southampton.
The Mending Broken Hearts campaign supports scientists who are working hard to understand how it may be possible for human beings to heal their own hearts, by examining the natural phenomenon of the Zebrafish, which can mend itself. This break-through research gives hope to thousands of people who suffer with heart problems and so sponsor money from the event will go towards a very worthwhile cause.
