Minutes away from the beach in Boscombe is this gem of a restaurant. The head chef Steve Gilbey, has been awarded two RAC awards and his passion for fine food and generous portions is evident in the menu. The quality of his cooking makes Gilbey’s one of the best choices for fine dining in the Bournemouth area.

The evening menu is focussed on fine dining and meals start with canapés at the bar, followed by an amuse bouche at the table, prior to starters being served. In contrast with current restaurant fashion all the extras are included in the price of the meal, making prices very reasonable, especially considering the quality of the food.

There is a carefully selected wine list to match the food and in the summer the restaurant offers al fresco dining on the terrace over looking the beautiful garden.

Lunch is served Thursday to Sunday, with a lighter lunch menu during the week and a Sunday roast at the weekend. You’re unlikely to find a better restaurant in Bournemouth for a Sunday roast, especially for diners who enjoy their beef. A full rib of beef is roasted every Sunday and served with all the trimmings as well as excellent options for diners who prefer not to have a roast.
