Acoustic Performance Space at AUCB

November 22, 2011
Architecture second years at AUCB have created the perfect environment for playing acoustically.

Advised by industry professionals, the students used specific materials and structural engineering to create a space, which emphasised the sensory experience in the architecture.

The interactive exhibition will be on display at Lighthouse in Poole from the 19 November – 14 January 2012.

The exhibition has been creates from largely sustainable materials, including plywood cut-offs, which were cut into panels and stacked to create a unique sounding performance area.

Daniel Hambly who co-curated the exhibition commented, β€œTo link the student Music School Project so closely within the context of site (Lighthouse) and place (Poole) and then physically into the Lighthouse enables stimulating, interactive architectural experiences.”
