The UK’s only free daytime beach sports festival will be returning for the 13th year this month to the South Coast’s ‘Platinum Peninsula’.

The event will run from 09-11 September at Sandbanks Beach, in Dorset, with various sporting competitions and have-a-go opportunities for all the family. The festivities will also include four nights of evening parties and appearances from some o the biggest names in the extreme sports industry.

During the day the line-up is packed with high-adrenaline events and activities, including professional kitesurfing and competitions in the water and 16-strong team Ultimate Beach Frisbee tournament on the sand. New this year, there will also be Sukhothai Martial Arts displays on the beach all weekend, including competitive title bouts.

Also new this year, there will be a 3K Sea Swim on the Sunday morning, including a variety of distances for different ages and abilities so anyone can join in, though you will have to register beforehand. Fans of Stand Up Paddle boarding (SUP) will be able to enter a new distance paddle around Brownsea Island on Saturday afternoon, as well as professional race in the morning.

Other activities for amateurs will include fun slalom racing, Animal bike show, skateboarding and BMX ramp, wakeboarding slider pools, equipment demos and a full Kids Zone. Alternatively, you can sit down on the beach and enjoy live music all day and relax while soaking up the action around you.

Dub Optic will launch the Thursday night opening, with many big names from the electronic music underground. There will also be a ball on the Friday night and an inspired Rubix Cube-themed bash on the Saturday night.
