Flux Art Supplies has emerged as part of the regeneration of Boscombe, alongside a number of other trendy independent stores and the popular vintage market, to service the area’s growing creative community.
Flux was opened in March this year by Tristan Ward in the beautiful Victorian surroundings of the Royal Arcade, filling the need in the market for people seeking creativity and individuality who are bringing about exciting changes in Boscombe.
Tristan has always had an interest in art, having worked as a printer for nearly 20 years. To him, opening a shop with a wide range of artists’ products as well as grass-roots printing equipment for block and screen prints seemed an obvious choice.
Flux art supplies also offers a gyclee print service for artists who wish to sell prints of their work on a range of papers and, to finish things off, an on-site custom framing service tailored to individual tastes and requirements.
The name Flux was chosen to represent a state of constant change and as a nod towards the art movement Fluxus which emerged out of New York in the Sixties.
Since opening its doors, Flux has strived to provide a service to inspire projects. Whilst stocking a choice of traditional basics for artists and creatives, Flux has also aimed to keep ahead with new products and innovations to cater for the ever changing ideas which are presented by its customer.
Flux Art Supplies is located at 8 Royal Arcade, Boscombe, Bournemouth. For more information, call 01202 303952 or visit www.fluxartsupplies.co.uk.
