Stylish rockers Art Brut are coming to the Wedgewood Rooms on the 10 October.
Named after French painter Jean Debuffet's definition of outsider art - work by prisoners, loners, the mentally ill, and other marginalized people - South London's Art Brut could be accused of being pretentious, but they do make brilliantly simple, cleverly stupid music.
Tagged as part of the so-called ‘Art Wave’ scene, which also pigeon-holes Franz Ferdinand and Bloc Party, this post-punk band from New Cross haven’t experienced the global success the others have had, but are a big hit on the indie disco scene.
Check them out when they play this Portsmouth gig, as part of the tour of their fourth album, Brilliant! Tragic!
Tickets cost £9.00. Doors open 8pm. For more information, visit www.wedgewood-rooms.co.uk.
