Tinted windows were once for celebrities hiding from the paparazzi and Boy Racers trying to get noticed. However, 21st Century in Poole reports that many of their customers are now often young families.
This is because, aside from looking stylish, tinted windows are also safe. While you may not be being pursued by photographers, not being able to look into windows means that prospective thieves cannot see your mobile phone left on the dashboard or your shopping bags on the back seat. The dark tinting also helps reduce heat in the car and harmful UV rays from getting in, preventing children on long journeys from getting sunburnt.
If you don’t want to black out your windows, you can also fit clear safety film, which is what the police use. This durable coating holds together the structure of the glass, so in a car crash this means the film will stop anything pushing in on your window and smashing it. But you can still push out the glass from the inside with relative ease to escape.
21st Century, who have recently re-branded to the millennial moniker after being previously called 21st Century Tints, also specialise in engine remapping. This involves adjusting the ECU microchips in modern cars, increasing both breaks per horse power and torque by up to 30 per cent. All of this is done without damage to the engine, which actually operates as a result at lower revs, saving up to 20 per cent in fuel consumption, giving the best of both worlds: better performance and better fuel economy.
21st Century is located at Unit 15 Morris Way, Nuffield Industrial Estate, Poole. For more information, visit www.21stcenturytints.com or call 01202 677848.
