Bournemouth’s gay pride festival, Bourne Free, is set to take place in early July.

This year’s event running from Friday 08 to Sunday 10 July has a ‘Treasure Island’ theme and will feature an Eighties-themed disco, cabaret acts, bingo as well as the annual Pride Parade.

The event, which started in 2004, attracts thousands of people from across the UK, as well as the wider world with some tickets reportedly sold as far afield as Canada last year.

Chairman Pete Lovegrove said: “Every year Bourne Free gets bigger and better. It’s really great to see so many of the town’s residents and visitors taking part in this great annual cultural event.”

Wristbands to gain access to the main event can be bought at DYMK Bar and White Tiger – both located in the Triangle – and start at £7 in advance or £10 on the day.
